The Miracle Stone |
|
|
|
|
|
A long long time ago, there was a man who had a very stubborn
kind of disease. To every doctor that he visited, his
disease could not be cured. He had almost given up until one
day somebody suggested that he visited a medicine man, who
lived a distance away and reputed to be able to cure most
diseases. Thinking that he had nothing to lose, he travelled
for a period of few weeks to see the medicine man. |

When he arrived at the medicine man's house, the medicine man
immediately checked his body to ascertain the type of
disease that he had. The old medicine man nodded to himself
indicating that he knew what was wrong with the sick man and
told him to wait while he walked to the back of his house to
fetch a medicine. A while later, the old medicine man walked
back into the house and carried with him what looked like a
piece of stone.
Showing the stone to the sick man, he said, "This is a
miracle stone. What you have to do to cure yourself is to
place this stone into a jug of water and then drink all the
water from the jug everyday. Do it at least three times a
day without fail. After you are cured, please return the
stone to me so that I can give it to cure other sick people
like you." |
|
|
|
|
|
Even though the sick man could not believe that the miracle
stone could cure his disease, nevertheless he promised to
the medicine man that he would return the miracle stone to
him after he was cured. He went back home with the stone and
did what the old medicine man told him to do. He placed the
stone into the jug and then filled it with water. Then he
drank all the water from the jug. |

As the days and weeks went by, the man never missed
doing what the medicine man told him to do. He never
missed putting the stone into a jug of water and drank
all the water from the jug three (3) times a day. Soon
he could feel the curative effect of the miracle stone.
He was getting better and better with each passing day,
until one day he felt totally cured. Remembering his
promise to the old man to return the miracle stone so
that other sick people could also benefit from it, he
made another trip to see the old medicine man bringing
along the miracle stone with him. |

|
|
|
When he arrived at the old medicine man's house,
he excitedly informed the old man that he had been totally cured
of his disease and thanked him for the miracle cure before
handing over the stone to him. He also handed a gift to the old
man as a token of his appreciation. The old medicine man took
the gift and the stone and asked to follow him to the back of
the house. |

When they reached the back of the house, he saw the
old man threw the stone a distance away. The stone
landed on the ground amongst a pile of other stones of
the same size and type. He was appalled at the old man's
action and asked him why he threw away the miracle
stone.
"More sick people could benefit from the
curative effect of the stone if they use it." he said.
The old man replied, "Don't worry sir, that is just
an ordinary stone and I can get more of it anytime I
want." |
| |
|
|
|
|
|
"What do you mean? Isn't it a miracle stone as you had said when
you handed it to me the last time to cure my disease?" said the
man. |
|
|
|
|
|
"Sir, let me ask you a question. If I had said to you that it
was an ordinary stone, would you have drank the water from the
jug like I told you to do?" asked the old medicine man. Before
the man could answer, the old man said," Actually when you came
to see me to find a cure for your disease, I diagnosed your body
as having lack of water, which was the reason why you were not
feeling well. So, to make sure that you drank a lot of water
everyday, I had to tell you that it was a miracle stone." |
|
|
|
|
|
"Don't underestimate the strength of water, my friend. Water
cleanse your body from toxics, that's why you gradually feel
better after consuming a lot of water everyday." advised the old
man. |
